My Other Half - Chapter 14 Demi's POV 2 days after my encounter with Joe, I was out with Trace once again. We've gone out together the past 3 days and it's been fun. We had just eaten dinner at a fancy restaurant and now we're walking down the sidewalk underneath the city lights. Trace slowly takes my hand, lacing our fingers together. I had the urge to let go, this didn't feel right. "I had a nice time tonight, Trace." I tell him regardless. "I'm glad." He says, nodding. We continue walking in an awkward silence. The next day, around 11:30, I go out for a drive and a trip to the beach. I change into my bikini and toss on some short, ripped jean shorts and a white, slouchy t-shirt over it. I didn't have any intention on swimming, but maybe I could get a tan. I get my bag then get in my car. I drive for a little while then end up at the beach that Joe and I came to a little while ago, the one where Trace... I shake my head of the memory and park my car. There are a ton of people here, obviously. It's summertime at Malibu Beach and it's an amazing day. I adjust my sunglasses, grab my purse, and get out and open my trunk. I grab the blanket that's in there and start walking across the beach. I stop and un-strap my sandals then continue on, carrying them in one hand. I walk for a few minutes and find a reasonably open area of sand. I carefully spread out the blanket and take off just my t-shirt, revealing my black bikini top, letting the sun warm my back.
